First mix with the new Technics SL-1200 MK7 turntables and 100% old school records. Putting this together was a lot of fun, and I hope you enjoy listening to it. Here are answers to some questions... I already have a pair of SL-1200 MK2 turntables -- why did I get MK7s? There are two main reasons -- first, I wanted to have one working turntable setup at home and one working turntable setup at my warehouse. The second reason is that I wanted to catch the feeling of owning brand new Technics. There are some lesser reasons -- word on the street is that the MK7s are easier for mixing, meaning they stay locked in BPM better than MK2s. And, supposedly the sound output of MK7s is better than MK2s. I'll get to the bottom of that mystery in a later video, but in terms of mixing, I feel that mixing on both is a similar experience. If it's easier on MK7s, it's not by leaps and bounds, but perhaps by a smaller yet noticeable degree. (This is in comparison to my MK2s, which have been maintained well and treated rather nicely from the time I bought them used).
