Heathkit sold many HO-13 and SB-620 monitorscopes to hams in the 60s and 70s, and while they came with parts to work with several IF frequencies, the majority were built for use with Heathit's 3395 kHz IF. Many are still in use, but other owners would prefer to use them with other ham gear with different IF frequencies and unfortunately the needed parts are long gone. I designed a simple frequency converter that works nicely for many purposes, including converting from various receiver or transceiver IFs to work with monitor scopes built for the Heathkit 3395 kHz IF. This video demonstrates it being used with an inexpensive shortwave receiver that happened to be on my bench at the time. The same appoach will work with other righs using the common 455 kHz IF, including Collins equipment that usually has a 455 kHz IF output for plug-and-play operation
