Showcasing an absurd number of hired hands for a buffer overflow, this run racks up 170 kills and uses that to skip straight to the credits. Unlike the "kirbywarp" that modifies the level counter to arrive in world 23, this strategy spawns in a custom entity that's used to start the credits sequence. It's more complex technically, but somewhat less flashy. timestamps 0:00 rip previous run 0:13 run starts 12:32 black market 16:11 freeze ray duping the ankh 16:29 ice caves 26:23 temple with no crush traps 32:54 4-3, killing the ghost 46:27 the crushing 1:02:15 killing magma men 1:09:58 finishing preparations 1:13:39 finale the many mistakes that I recovered from forgot the cape in the BM blew up an altar (this run requires a mitt) died in 3-3 freeze ray duped again instead of killing the HH in 3-3, meaning I had an extra hired hand... got to see a new glitch and pick up a whip in 3-4 though blew up the top lava in 4-3 (meant I could have been out of luck for magma men, which I needed for 170 kills) FAQ "what?" don't worry about it "how?" I might post a long explanation video or playlist but... don't count on my motivation to do so! I'm notorious for not starting such things! "why were you killing the hired hands you took an ankh from before crushing them with yourself?" literally just to move the new ankh-holder because my safespot setup was kinda janky "where'd your gloves go at 1:10:57? where'd that crysknife come from?" the shadow realm, naturally! this is when the out-of-bounds memory writing happens in the run - I'm overwriting the data for my items, as well as some other important details that keep the game from crashing later. "what's up with the crushing of 4 hired hands?" creating 24 hired hands keeps the game from crashing by overwriting a certain byte, but you only need to have 20 to spawn the credits item. the 21st hired hand spawns an item corresponding to the number of times you've saved a damsel, which is often non-zero and will crash the game. but, I don't use a tiki trap because the 19th hired hand spawns your kapala blood counter as an item, so I need to collect a multiple of 8 blood drops (0 being the easiest number by far)
