Tom Yum Nam Kon | Super Duper, Uber Deluxe version of TOM YUM! Hi everyone today's video is all about TOM YUM NAM KON this is an upgraded version of tom yum that is incredibly tasty, soothing and spicy with a rich umami flavour, gained primarily with tamarind, evaporated milk and chilli paste. Chef Tou will be showing us how to make this in the shortest amount of time, but actually this recipe is very easy. The longest part is preparing the ingredients, the cooking part is a piece of cake. Enjoy. Here's the recipe: 10 Dry roasted Thai birds eye chilli 20g Galangal 20g lemongrass 2 heaped Tbsp chilli paste (nam prig pao) 200g Tiger prawns 200g Garlic peeled 2 Banana shallots 2x Tbsp tamarind sauce 2x Tbsp lemon juice (we ended up adding another 2 spoons) 5/6 Cherry tomatoes Half Tbsp salt 400ml water 3 Tbsp evaporated milk 20 sliced fresh Thai birds eye chilli Button mushrooms as many as you like 10 Kaffir lime leaves Coriander leaves and stems with root ( handful of leaves at the end and root with stems 2x sprigs) As with all Asian cooking this is a rough guide with regards to amounts, adjust for your own taste and spice tolerance.
