: Mandasa is a village and mandal in Srikakulam district of Andhra pradesh. Once it's used to call as Manjusha. : The temple was consecrated in 1744 AD by Raja Harihara Mani. : The idol of the presiding deity is carved from red sand rock. : Mandasa village is placed on the foothills of the Mahendragiri hills. : Mandasa Fort is said to be built by Lakshmana Raja Mani(ruler and landlord) in 1779. : Mahendra Giri was also said to be residence of sage Parasurama. : As per puranas it is belived that Hanuman jumped from the Mahendra Giri to Lanka when he went in search of Sita Devi. : In 17th & 18th century's the temple was well managed, but later it lost all it's fame and glory into ruins. : Sri Chinna Srimannaryana Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamiji re-established the temple in 2003.
