3 Gardens in Rome: Roseto Comunale, Villa Giulia & Villa Borghese Filmed on 31 May & 1 June 2025 Roseto Comunale (Saturday 31 May 2025) The Roseto Comunale or Municipal Rose Garden in Rome is only open for a couple of months a year: during the spring flowering, from the end of April to May, and then the autumn flowering in October. As it was already late in May when we visited, many of the roses were just past their best, however, it was still a site worth visiting. Museo Nazionale Etrusco di Villa Giulia (Sunday 1 June 2025) Villa Giulia is probably not on the agenda for many who visit Rome on a short trip, so we were delighted that we had seven days for our visit to the city. The First Sunday of the month is a Free Sunday for many museums and attractions in Rome, and indeed across Italy. Although we could have visited the Etruscan Museum, we chose to spend time in the beautiful gardens only Villa Borghese (Sunday 1 June 2025) Villa Borghese is a huge park on the edge of central Rome which provides a wonderful haven within the busy city.
