150 km north of the Arctic circle, is a community of about 2300 people. Muonio is a gateway to the wilderness,and is accessible by road, by rail or by air. Here you have the freedom to roam, to drink the water and eat the berries. Its a place where the sun never sets or the sun never rises. The temperature can fall to -30 or rise to +30. Its 80 km to the nearest town and 230km to the nearest mall, traffic light or hospital, yet the next country is just across the river. Life is Simple in Muonio, function may beat fashion, but its never boring. While the environment may be challenging, people here are just like everyone else, living life, raising families and building their community. Some families have lived here for generations, Some have just moved here, some people are just passing through. Everyone here has an interesting story to tell So, Muonio TV was set up to introduce you to some people in our community and share their stories.
