LeTourneau Westinghouse Electric Winch (1934) 20 ton capacity, diesel generator powered, reinforced skid platform mounting, pulley system with 6:1 mechanical advantage. THE TREE'S LEGACY: The redwood stood until 1984 when a Pacific windstorm brought it down at 300 feet up. The stump sent up shoots that are now 60 foot trees themselves. A historical marker stands on the hiking trail built in 1998. Morrison transferred to eastern Oregon pine operations and retired in 1956. In his 1952 Oregon Timber magazine interview, he said: "We thought we could move anything with enough horsepower. That tree taught us different." #CaterpillarD6 #VintageBulldozer #OregonLogging #HeavyEquipment #LoggingHistory © Bulldozer Geek USA - Preserving Heavy Equipment History Video Length: 13:14 Category: Documentary / History / Heavy Equipment Audience: Equipment enthusiasts, history buffs, Pacific Northwest historians, vintage machinery collectors, logging industry professionals
