Every year, at the beginning of November, we head off to EICMA, the motorcycle international trade fair in Milan, to meet with suppliers, and find out what's new for the coming season. It's a fabulous show. In fact, the first two days are exclusive to the press and the trade. The next four days are open to the general public. And the event is impressive. This year the show was spread over 10 halls, many of which are large enough to swallow the NEC motorcycle show twice over. Some people, of course, would be disappointed that there's no car-boot sale area built in to the event. But the food is pretty good, though, and the cappuccinos are top notch. If you do ever decide to visit the show, however, bring your most comfortable shoes. Because you’re in for a lot of walking! Right now, the motorcycle business, it has to be said, is somewhat in the doldrums. Not just here but throughout Europe too. Motorcycle sales are down almost everywhere. In the U.K. motorcycle dealerships are closing at an unprecedented rate. And the same goes for clothing retailers. It's estimated that, this year alone, more than 50 independent motorcycle clothing retailers have closed their doors. It has taken a few years for EICMA to build itself up again after COVID, but even so, this year lots of the clothing brands who have historically attended the show did not take stands. So we're talking about brands such as Rukka, Shark, Daytona, Segura, Bering, Macna, Rokker, Helstons, Stylmartin, Falco, Fuel and Pando. Plus many others, I’m sure. Nonetheless lots of the brands we deal with were at the show. Now, in lots of cases, we had seen many of the new-for-2025 lines already, but we hadn't always seen all the colourways of a particular style, and in some cases we had only got to view early, preproduction samples, so there were still a lot of brands we wanted to visit. Anyway, let's look at the stands we went on to, with a view to telling you about some of the stuff that’s new for 2025. Why not pay us a personal visit?
