Have you found a packet of long forgotten flower or vegetable seeds and wondered if they are worth sowing in your garden? You won’t find a definite answer to this seed conundrum online. In order to find out if your seeds are still alive and viable you will need to carry out your own germination test. Here I show you how to test the germination rate of your own seeds using just a paper towel, some water and a plastic box. I also carry out my own seed germination experiment on some really old herb and vegetable seeds I found in a mysterious tin on my new allotment.
