What is Fondue? It’s a food made for sharing! My easy rendition of the Swiss classic is the perfect Valentine’s day treat to make for your loved ones! This fondue recipe feeds 2 very generously, and could easily feed 4 or 5, with enough dippers! Leftover cheese can be cooled in the pot, and used the next day as a pasta sauce, or frozen for 2 months for your next fondue adventure! This cheesy dream is perfect with the classic gruyere cheese, and I’ve used emmental and comte for additional flavour. Any good low moisture cheese that melts well will work - the flavour profile is completely up to you! You can even use beer in the place of wine, which does especially well with cheddar and gouda cheeses! So dig out that old fondue pot that has been collecting dust since the ‘70s, and get cheesy, baby! Recommendations for dipping: -Bread (a good quality sourdough loaf is preferred), cubed or sliced -Green apples -Raw cauliflower -Roasted new potatoes (drizzle with olive oil, salt, and seasoning, roast at 400F/200C for 30 minutes) -Pickled onions and cornichons -Olives -Cherry tomatoes -Steamed broccoli ******************************************************************************** INGREDIENTS 600g mixed cheese (I used gruyere - the most traditional, emmental, and comte) 230mL / 1 cup white wine (I used Riesling from the Alsace region of France) 1 tbsp lemon juice 1 clove garlic 1tbsp kirsch (I used apricot schnapps, but if you don’t have either you can just use a bit more wine) 1 tbsp corn flour/starch Freshly cracked black pepper Freshly grated nutmeg SPECIAL EQUIPMENT Fondue pot (optional, but recommended) ******************************************************************************** 😻 FOLLOW ME: Instagram: www.instagram.com/myblackcatkitchen Facebook: www.facebook.com/myblackcatkitchen Website: www.myblackcatkitchen.com Business inquires: [email protected] 🔔 PLEASE LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE! 🔔 / blackcatkit... ******************************************************************************** If you like our videos, please consider buying me a coffee at: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/blackcat... ☕ What we use in the Black Cat Kitchen! 😻 My super cute apron!! https://amzn.to/2XiIVp0 My adorable oven gloves! https://amzn.to/3nfTsvX Camera: https://amzn.to/3ojfT4I Amazing lighting for food/video/photography: https://amzn.to/3nqCsDm Microphone: https://amzn.to/2JV0xo4 The best tripod ever: https://amzn.to/3nlVKcG Powerful, easy to use editing software: https://amzn.to/2NEtLZN The Editor LOVES TubeBuddy!
