I quite like Georgia Aquarium overall. I hate that Georgia Aquarium doesn't allow photos or videos to be taken during their shows. Perhaps this policy has changed in recent years, but it sure as hell wasn't allowed both times I've been to the facility. I had to sneaky sneak my camera in and keep putting it away during shows so that employees wouldn't catch me. It was incredibly annoying. GA, WHY are you literally the only marine mammal park that I have ever visited that does NOT allow footage to be taken during shows? Flash photography, okay, sure, I get that, indoor exhibits, flash is bad for the animals and the employees... But no photos or videos allowed AT ALL????????? WTF GA. Anyways. Other than that big complaint of mine, I don't really have anything else overly negative to say about this aquarium lol. It helps that it opened in like 2005 so overall it still feels fairly modern. I feel like pretty much all the marine mammal habitats could and should probably be a bit bigger, but I acknowledge that habitat size alone does not automatically make for good or bad animal care. It all depends on how well the facility uses the space, how they get the animals to interact with said space, etc. But yeah. Overall, fairly positive opinion of Georgia Aquarium. Also, this trip happened after I got my DSLR camera so I was mostly snapping photos this day. If anyone is wondering why I have no video of the whale sharks and manta rays and stuff. TBH I probably wouldn't even have this video footage at all if I had just been allowed to take regular photos, but instead I had to sneak my old/smaller camera in to try and get whatever footage I could.
