The 2000s were arguably the most transformative decade in WWE history. It began with the peak of the Attitude Era, transitioned into the Ruthless Aggression Era, and ended with the company moving toward a PG rating. The decade is generally split into three distinct periods: The Late Attitude Era (2000–2002): Defined by the "Monday Night Wars" victory, the purchase of WCW, and the star power of The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin. The Ruthless Aggression Era (2002–2008): Following a famous promo by Vince McMahon, this era focused on technical wrestling and "homegrown" talent. It featured the first Brand Split (Raw vs. SmackDown). The Early PG Era (2008–2009): To appeal to a wider audience and sponsors, WWE moved away from blood and adult content, centering the product around John Cena. This video includes stars including....
