Fishing the 4:30 PM – 8:30 PM window in Auckland can be a real hit or miss, and this trip was definitely a grind. We managed to land 7 legal snappers on the Doctor Hook charter, but we had to work for every single one of them. The secret to turning the night around? Using a simple ledger rig and switching between the provided pilchards and some fresh yellow eye mullet I caught at the wharf earlier that day.
