I had a couple of jars of home decor liquid wax left over from some chalk paint projects a few years ago. I did not like using it on furniture because you periodically needed to reapply it, hence why I have this leftover. I wondered if there was an artsy use for this stuff and after some experimenting I found one. Protecting your watercolors, painted postcards and art journal pages in lieu of using Dorlands Wax. Pros to this method: It's quick and easy It is cheap (or free if you have some leftover) It works well Cons: There is a slight cream color to the wax You must be gentle and use a soft brush so you don't smear your watercolor I don't know if it is archival (Use Dorlands Wax if you need a clear and archival solution) Here are the products I mentioned: Home Decor Wax: https://amzn.to/3PRnWFL Dorlands Wax: http://shrsl.com/4hc14 or https://amzn.to/4akGaHN *you get 2x the product of home decor wax vs Dorlands wax for the same price.
