Is state funding the factor behind recent CCSD budget challenges

Parents and employees are sharing concern and frustration continue after a $50 million dollar reduction in CCSD school budgets for the Fall. There are schools in the process of budgeting out staff to make up for the difference. The district says it has to do with lower student enrollment and higher employee costs. CCSD officials say 284 schools saw a reduction and 201 of those schools predict lower enrollment. Nevada Parent Teacher Association president-elect Rebecca Dirks Garcia says she's been on the phone non-stop with parents and schools as the CCSD budget challenges continue.
