Composed in Vienna on 15 November 1791, this Cantata is the last completed composition of Mozart, and was performed on 17 or 18 November under the conduction of the author (his last public appearance) for the inauguration of the Lodge "Zur neugekrönten Hoffnung". The text, attributed to Schikaneder, is probably by Karl Ludwig Gieseke.
