2013 will be a very busy legislative and regulatory year in Canada. The recent legalization of recreational cannabis use in Washington and Colorado has opened the doors to the personal production question. A different make-up in the cannabis movement has been initiated by many from coast to coast. BC and Quebec seem to be leading the way in legalization. This Coalition is about personal production thus affects us all. If Canada were to phase out all personal production I believe many US states will follow as some already are. Big business is fine for the cannabis industry for it will pull North America out of debt based on figures and estimates. This said our Coalition believes in ones right to autonomy. It was established in Canadian courts over a decade ago that a person has the right to use cannabis under s.7 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms while indeed we have been granted personal production via regulation since 2001. The courts failed to address cultivation of cannabis rather granted medicinal use of cannabis negating the issue of cultivation hence the proposed phase out. MPDCaR is a gateway Coalition for social law reform on a national level. For U.S. and foreign companies, organizations, and governments that don't have a presence in Canada, but want to explore establishing a more interactive and professional relationship with the initiative to protect the right to cultivate cannabis in this country are welcomed. As mentioned its already raising problems in the legalization issue in the US for it remains federally illegal. Working in solidarity for this cause is no one person or groups concern. It's an everyone issue who may wish to one day grow their own cannabis and not pay for it at dispensing fees+ tx. Developing such an effort is not a cost-prohibitive idea. In fact, MPDCaR can provide a significant government relations program for a cost-effective budget of between $5,000/mo. and $10,000/mo. depending, of course, on the substance and scope of what you want to accomplish in in any said territory. MPDCaR provides a comprehensive and personalized Coalition relations services that help companies navigate official, develop government business, build important bridges, and establish a substantive working relationship with elected officials, policy leaders, regulatory professionals, and Congressional and Administration decision makers in Canada for the best resolve of the proposed phase out. We launched MPDCaR on 12/11/2012 to offer a substantive suite of services for a competitive, inspired, and united Coalition; a departure from the sizable retainers often associated with larger firms has been addressed via a Coalition trust fund. High profile lawyer John Conroy has legally backed this Coalition should we need go to court. In short, a high-level of service for free or by donation that does not appreciably affect the bottom line of the Coalition. Stopping the federal phase out or reversing it in court we need and will be prepared for with the Coalition working in solidarity social law reform will be enacted. Be it name, letter, donation, and social media networking, all assists in establishing legally the right to cultivate cannabis rather than a regulation permitting it! We approach everything in a bipartisan manner. MPDCaR colleagues have worked at the highest levels of municipal, provincial and federal government, in a policy and political capacity, and in the executive and legislative branches of the federal government thus our unity is strong. If you think MPDCaR can be helpful in developing a government relations effort in Canada, then we're happy to host a conference call with you and your colleagues when your schedules permit. As a collective body this Canadian initiative is about the 20,000+ sick or disabled persons who currently supply themselves, or have someone supply them via the 17,000 legal growers facing the proposed phase out. Many thanks for your consideration. Best regards.
