Conservationists brave dizzying heights in an effort to rehabilitate forests after California wildfires. In the midst of intensifying wildfires and global warming, California faces an overwhelming struggle to replant millions of acres lost to recent wildfires. The process of replanting starts by hand-picking the cones of mature conifers. By identifying species that are more adapted to climate change, geneticists are able to replant conifers that have the best chance of survival. The short documentary Reforestation follows the monumental effort to rebuild California forests, one pine cone at a time.
