I needed to head over to Portsmouth to help my son build a kitchen unit, and thought it’d be a good excuse for a change of scenery — so I decided to take you along for the ride. This video follows a familiar route out and back, passing through places like Portsdown Hill, Hilsea, and Tipner. Nothing dramatic or forced — just riding through areas I know well, stopping occasionally to talk, and enjoying the rhythm of a route that’s become a favourite over time. It’s a calm, steady ride rather than a challenge. A chance to get out, let the miles roll by, take in the views, and listen to some music along the way. Sometimes that’s all a ride needs to be. I’m still rebuilding fitness steadily after last year’s heart attack, keeping things sensible and consistent. This ride is part of that — turning up, riding within myself, and letting time do the work rather than pushing for anything more.
