Well, You, as a doctor, often come across patients with the differential diagnoses of ankle pain in today’s video, we will be discussing your approach to the Foot pain DDx and guidelines for management. ▬ 📃 Foot or Ankle Pain Differential Diagnosis Foot and Ankle Pain feels like aching or burning pain in the foot or ankle, certain activities, such as walking, standing, or wearing shoes can make it worse. ▬ 📜 Foot or Ankle Pain History Taking Now, there are some important questions, that you need to ask about the patient before heading toward the Foot Pain differentials: 🔵 Firstly ask the patient about joint pain, foot numbness, and any previous X-rays or evaluations of the foot and ankle bone pain. 🔵 Ask the patient about family history such as gout, alcoholism, pernicious anemia, diabetes, and rheumatoid arthritis. 🔵 Thirdly, ask your patient where he or she feels pain, and if experienced a recent injury to their foot or ankle for foot ankle pain. 🔵 Ask the patient about the medication history, such as gout medications, colchicines, allopurinol (Zyloprim), or probenecid (Benemid), the tuberculosis drug isoniazid. ▬ 📃 Foot or Ankle Pain Physical Examination Now, that you are aware of the symptoms of your patient. What you are supposed to do next, is the physical examination of a patient with Foot and Ankle Pain for ankle injury differentials and foot pain differentials and it includes: 🔴 A test of your nerves and movement. 🔴 Thorough foot and ankle exam, including checking for bone deformities, pain, swelling, range of motion, and pain on movement or weight bearing. ▬ 📜 Foot or Ankle Pain Causes Following are the causes of Foot and Ankle Pain 🟡 Foot strain 🟡 Rheumatoid Arthritis 🟡 Ankle fracture 🟡 Fasciitis 🟡 Achilles tendonitis or bursitis 🟡 Osteochondritis 🟡 Neuroma 🟡 Degenerative Arthritis 🟡 Stiff toe 🟡 Bunion 🟡 Gout 🟡 Neuropathy Mentioned above are different causes of Foot pain differential diagnosis and Ankle Pain differential diagnosis.
