Sunday, January 11, 2026 Pastor Paul O. Mitchell "The Blessing Is In Obedience" Sermon Notes: James 1:21-26 *"If you obey God, He'll bless you. You will be blessed in all you do if you obey God." Philippians 2:5-11 *When you are obedient to God, He will bless and exalt you because you honored and gloried Him with your obedience. Genesis 22:13-18 Hebrews 11:7-10 *Noah's obedience saved his whole house. If he was disobedient, he and his family would have drowned. *"Your obedience and your obeying God is going to lead you to your place of inheritance. He has an inheritance for you, but you have to say "yes" to Him so He can lead you to your place of prosperity." Deuteronomy 28:1-25 *The Lord will command the blessing on those who are obedient to Him and keep His commandments. *When Adam ate the fruit, "many were made sinners"[Romans 5:19]. But, the Bible also tells us that it was not Adam who was deceived, but Eve [1 Timothy 2:14]. "You can make [disobedient] decisions [because] you're connected to a deceived individual." *We underestimate the high cost of disobedience. The rewards of disobedience are curses apon your life. Deuteronomy 8:1-3 Colossians 3:5-7 *It is your responsibility to kill your flesh. Either your flesh dies and your Spirit-man, the real you, lives, or you die and your flesh lives. *God is just and His judgements are righteous. This world tries to justify their disobedience and condemn God's just punishment. Do not be deceived! Disobedience deserves the just punishment of God's wrath. *Jesus took the punishment of God's wrath for us on the cross. If you want God's blessings and not His wrath, be obedient to God, receive salvation through Jesus Christ, and be obedient to God. 1 Peter 1:13-15 *In Christ, you are made a child of God. Obey your Father as an obedient child as Jesus, your elder brother, did. As God is holy, so shall you be.
