Short comparison between internal and external recording using a Sony a7S II and Atomos Shogun Inferno 4k Recorder. The HDMI 2.0 AtomFlex Cable works great, too bad it can't output 120fps with the Sony. Ungraded footage straight out from the devices, both run with the latest firmwares. ProRes files are much easy to work on Resolve or Premiere, the XAVC-S 4K codec is clunky during playback. The only downside of ProRes is that the files are ways heavy, depending on the resolution, few seconds of video can turn into many GB, but there's 422 and LT to choose.
