When scandals like the Epstein files come to light, many people start questioning the system. They see powerful elites involved in immoral crimes, yet justice seems delayed or incomplete. It creates a feeling that the rich and influential can escape accountability, while ordinary people suffer the consequences of their small mistakes. But Islam teaches us something deeper. Islam does not deny that powerful people may commit great ظلم (oppression) in this world. It acknowledges that in dunya, some ظالم (wrongdoers) may appear untouchable. However, this temporary escape is not success — it is a test. That is why Allah has appointed The Day of Judgment — a fixed and unavoidable Day where every secret will be exposed, every ظلم will be answered, and every oppressed soul will receive justice. No wealth. No power. No connections. No secret deals. Nothing will save anyone from the perfect justice of Allah. Even the smallest deed — good or bad — will be accounted for. The system of this world may fail, but the system of Allah never fails. Allah says in the Qur’an: “So whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it, and whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it.” (Surah Az-Zalzalah 99:7–8) And the Prophet ﷺ said: “The rights will be given back to those to whom they are due on the Day of Resurrection, even to the extent that the hornless sheep will take retribution from the horned sheep.” (Sahih Muslim) This means no injustice will be ignored — not even between animals. So when we see powerful people escaping justice in this world, we remember: Their real trial has not even begun yet.
