"VALLOGAY" by Galdang Senior Citizen ( Kalinga Song/Chant)

Vallogay/Vallugay is a Kalinga Cultural song usually played by men and women. This is said to have started as a hobby and entertainment by the old folks of Kalinga which is still played until today. There are different ways of singing the vallogay; some sing it simultaneously or alternately by men and women. The vallogay contains different type of songs or chant like the "imbuwat" for males and 'oynasi" for the females etc,. They do the singing while facing each other (usually men vs. women) and stomping their feets to make the chant livelier. The Vallogay's theme in this video is "MAHALAGA SINA LOLA AT LOLO NGAYONG PANDEMYA" presented by the senior citizens of Galdang, Pasil, Kalinga during the Elderly Week Celebration Vallogay Contest. THEY WON FIRST PLACE.
