#International_criminal_law is the field of #international_law that regulates the behavior of states, organizations, and individuals operating across boundaries in committing international crimes. International criminal law also governs the commission of serious crimes occurring on the territory of sovereign states where those crimes constitute genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, or Crimes of aggression. The prohibition, prevention and punishment of such crimes have been recognized as jus cogens and obligations erga omnes in the global legal order.
