The Velons (original members) were John King, James Falwell, Gilbert Farrall and brothers Oliver and Gerald Crosby who hailed from Washington D.C. They began singing in 1958 while attending High School together. The group would go on to have different member changes through the years and record many great songs on numerous 45’s, albums and CD’s. Although The Velons have never been in the music mainstream they are, in my opinion without a doubt, one of the finest vocal groups in the country. The first recording and release was February 11, 1935 by Richard Himber and His Ritz-Carlton Orch. (Victor #24868-B) with lead vocal by Joey Nash. “ZING!
