(Jump to 07:55 if you just want to see the photos.) Today I have been preparing myself for the arrival of my first FILM camera in many years, a Rolleicord TLR camera. (Birthday present) So, I went out today with my trusty Panasonic GH4, one prime lens (Olympus 12mm f2) and armed with the ancient exposure system 'Sunny sixteen'. No light meter for me! To make my job as hard as possible I decided on my settings for each shot without relying on the cameras internal witchcraft, judging each scene by eye, and coming up with the required shutter speed and aperture in my head. Also, just to make things as tricky as possible, I also went out in changeable midday weather (overcast and sunny mix) and finally, I went to a ASDA carpark to hunt for subject matter. :D Admittedly, this car park isn't that far from a nice beach/rivermouth... but I think you will agree I made things pretty difficult for myself to to get any decent shots, figuring that it would make me learn and get better, faster. I think I was pretty successful, but I have to be honest, I'm still not sure this will work with the Rolleicord TLR camera when that arrives. Of course, I will share my experiences with that when it gets here.
