We do not have Part 1, unfortunately; which sets up Rip being woken up and such. The silent (soundtrack added) film follows a cartoon Rip Van Winkle and the 'Spirit of Radio', who ride the radio waves to New York and hear all the different programs, be it a football game or a religious broadcast. This 16mm print dates to 1925. While the Pathescope "25 years of cinema supremacy" would indicate 1922 original release, the shot at 5:58 is the 1924 DNC; meaning it was released in 1924 or 1925. Upon further research I believe the proper title to be "The Re-awakening of Rip Van Winkle". https://archive.org/details/1000oneth... An old Library of Congress page indicates it may have been produced by Max Fleischer's Inkwell Studios, on same reel as "NOW YOU'RE TALKING". https://web.archive.org/web/202303310... 'Travel Film Archives' has a video with much of part 1 but lacking other sections. https://www.travelfilmarchive.com/ite... Please contact regarding usage Put in a lot of corrections. Film was quite shrunken/warped throughout and with damage to the film base. Did deflickering and multiple levels of stabilization to try and clear it up, along with other adjustments.
