Today I’m visiting the beautiful grounds of Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens in Northumberland, managed by English Heritage. In this peaceful winter walk we explore the historic gardens surrounding the impressive hall, including woodland paths, terrace gardens and the famous quarry garden. During late winter the grounds come alive with thousands of snowdrops, creating stunning white carpets beneath the trees. Even without entering the hall itself, the gardens offer a relaxing walk full of history, nature and beautiful scenery. Belsay is one of the most unique historic landscapes in the North East, combining dramatic rock formations, landscaped gardens and centuries of history.
