In this episode of Wings of Success Podcast, we are joined by Sourav Kumar, the Co-Founder and COO of Broomees — a platform that connects households with trained and verified domestic workers while creating employment opportunities in the domestic service sector. Sourav shares how his curiosity started in childhood. He always wanted to create something unique, and his parents supported his ideas and experiments. During weekends, he and his friends used to travel across NCR to understand social issues around them. One question that stayed with him was why many children were begging on the streets instead of studying. After researching this problem, they created a basic education model and started teaching children at different locations. However, after six months they noticed that many children returned to the streets because their families lacked stable income. This made them realize that the real problem was employment and financial security for parents. This insight led to the creation of Broomees, which was launched in 2020 during the Covid pandemic. The company initially started with live-in domestic services, where workers stayed in households and supported families during difficult times. The business started with just ₹30,000 and grew through word-of-mouth marketing, networking, and social media advertising. In this podcast, Sourav also talks about: • The journey from ₹30,000 to a ₹33 crore valuation after appearing on Shark Tank India • Marketing strategies used to grow the business • Expansion from Delhi to other regions like Jharkhand • How Broomees trains and supports domestic workers • How their platform is different from traditional domestic help agencies • Creating systems and support resources for workers and families • Future plans to expand the business globally This conversation highlights how identifying real problems in society can lead to building meaningful and impactful businesses.
