This is a reflective short about memory, resilience, forgiveness, and the power of listening. One morning in Halifax, my wife and I visited Africville. A historic Black community whose story continues to be carried by those who lived it. Inside the Africville Museum, we had the privilege of meeting Bernice Arsenault and Beatrice Wilkins. They are former residents who now help guide visitors through the space and carry that story forward. This isn’t meant to explain everything. It’s an invitation to pause. To listen. To remember.
