Moving Images: 75 Years After the Battle, Confederate & Union Veterans Reunite

In 1938, the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg, Confederate and Union veterans gathered in Gettysburg for their last reunion of the battle. By this time, there were less than 8,000 Civil War veterans still living. Almost 1,400 of them made the trip to Gettysburg and they had an average age of 94 years old. They came by car and train from all over the country. Local Boy Scout troops acted as aids. This video showcases colorized images from the reunion. Enjoy!
