So many subjects have been examined in this text so far. Starting from the barbarism of slavery, to forced labor on the plantations, the juxtaposition of African destitution and White luxury under colonial dominance, African culture, African scenery, the African resource richness, religion, education, African stories, African danse and more. It is hard to not notice the slow but gradual shift from African culture to Westernization. As the story comes to an end in these final chapters the author must grapple with who is to blame. Is it the Whiteman for his greed, sense of superiority and cruelty, or the African for not staying true to his culture and fighting colonial exploitation? In these last chapters, this author makes it clear that it is a human problem. Mankind, regardless of its origin, has the capacity for cruelty and good if given the right opportunity. Each individual must take a stand for good or evil regardless of the risks. There is a price to be paid for that choice but good, integrity, wisdom and mercy will always triumph regardless of the odds.
