Find this video in my YouTube Channel @kenmusumba Lion, King of the jungle, is alleged to have trespassed the fence, the fence separating the wilderness of wildlife and the other wilderness where humans govern. There are random anonymous casualties being reported among the people. Eventually, a killing field is uncovered somewhere in some farm... Immediately, the people's clamour speculates that the stray lion is the probable culprit. But is the lion really responsible for the casualties among the people? Forensic investigations argue otherwise: the clues point to a cluster of a pair of claws, rather than a cluster of the interlocking four of a lion! Still, the people press and press... for the obliteration of the lion! Lion, lion, where will you lie on! Will the human wilderness prevail over the now carefree roam enjoyed by the lion, a roam away from his prescribed home? Could it be that the lion is not meant to be a constrained being? Perhaps, just perhaps, lion is as entitled to his free roam as much we humans are to ours... Perhaps, the whole universe is his territory, just as much as it is ours! Perhaps, just perhaps, when lion, lion, no longer has a place to lie on, neither shall we! This poem is a metaphor of human-wildlife conflict; but other conflicts may well be there, in a sort of play within a play exposition of proceedings!
