TARGET - Live '75 (1975) USA Live At The High Cotton Club, Memphis, TN, February 1975 Pre-FM Radio Broadcast 192 kbps [img][/img] 01. Memphis, Tennessee 02. Movin' On 03. Love That Just Won't Quit 04. Your Cash Ain't Nothin' But Trash 05. La Grange Jimi Jamison - Vocals (COBRA, SURVIVOR, DeGARMO & KEY) Paul Cannon - Guitar (WASHRAG, JOHN PRINE) Buddy Davis - Guitar & Keyboards (DOC WATSON) Tommy Cathey - Bass (BIG STAR, JOHN PRINE, DeGARMO & KEY) David Spain - Drums TARGET were a five piece Southern Rock band from Memphis, Tennessee, who formed in the early 1970's. The band consisted of singer Jimi Jamison, guitarist Paul Cannon, Buddy Davis on keyboards, Tommy Cathey on bass and drummer David Spain. Like most bands of their time, the band built up their reputation, their catalogue of songs and their fanbase by playing live constantly. Eventually their hard work paid off, as they were spotted and eventually signed by A&M Records. Target's self-titled debut album was released in 1976 and they hit the road, opening for such groups as KISS & BLACK SABBATH. The group's FREE & LYNYRD SKYNYRD influenced sound went down well live, but somehow this didn't translate into the kind of record sales that had been hoped for. A second album, 1977's 'Captured' saw the band's sound become a little more sophisticated and expansive, and the band went out on tour once more, playing with BOSTON on this occassion. However, A&M were unimpressed by the sales figures for 'Captured' and dropped Target from their roster. Target struggled on without a record deal until the early 1980's, before finally calling it a day. They won many loyal fans over their time together, and continued to pack venues down the years whenever there was the occassional Target reunion.. Today those original Target albums are becoming harder to find, and you should expect to pay $30-$50 depending on condition. After the breakup of Target, Jimi Jamison formed the group COBRA with future ASIA and KROKUS guitarist Mandy Meyer. Cobra released just one album, 1983's 'First Strike', before splitting with Jamison then going on to find fame with SURVIVOR. art & txt included

no pw ctme
