This was a new, unexplored reef between 12–14 meters, packed with mullet, sargos, triggerfish and unexpected action. During a long drop, I instinctively took a distant shot that turned out to be a Dentex… but excitement made me rush back down without a full recovery. The line was tangled on the reef and wrapped around my weight belt, leading to a dangerous moment where I had to drop my weights.
