Clean and dry the container, and place it on a flat surface. Measure: Use the container as a measuring cup to fill it twice with wax flakes or shavings. Melted wax takes up less space. Melt: Pour the wax into a double boiler and heat slowly until melted. Add fragrance: Stir in fragrance oil or essential oils. Add wick: Center the wick in the container using a wick centering tool or glue dots. Pour: Lower the heat to between 125°F–145°F, then slowly pour the wax into the container. Cool: Let the candle cool, set, and cure. Light: Once the candle is cured, you can light it and enjoy. You can also use a candy thermometer to monitor the temperature of the wax.
