Members of staff cleared some of the debris and tried to recover usable equipment. Part of the building was completely destroyed and some of its roof and walls collapsed. Since the beginning of the war, the hospital has been treating outpatients from all over the Donbas region as many other hospitals have closed. Even when most of the population left Kramatorsk, several patients - some with no family - remained in the city, receiving medical support from the hospital's staff. Those who were working at the time of the attack were shaken by it, said hospital director Liudmyla Sevastianova. But when she gathered them and asked if the hospital should close, she said the workers and doctors agreed they should continue to treat their patients.
