The Penang Floating Mosque (Masjid Terapung Pulau Pinang), also known as Tanjung Bungah Floating Mosque (Masjid Terapung Tanjung Bungah) is a floating mosque built on the bay in Tanjung Bungah, Penang, Malaysia. The construction of the mosque started in 2003. It was officially opened on 16 March 2007. The mosque was built on piling and tilts above the sea. This over-water mosque will appear as if it is floating on sea water at high tide. It is the first mosque to be built in the sea in Malaysia. Other floating mosques in Malaysia have so far been built in lakes. The mosque features a mixture of Middle Eastern and local architecture. It can accommodate up to 1,500 worshipers at one time. The mosque is built with a seven-storey high towering minaret. The Masjid Terapung Tanjung Bungah is easily accessible from the Tanjung Bungah main road. Rapid Penang buses 101, 103 and 104 go to Tanjung Bungah from Komtar Bus Terminal. Bus ride is about 25 minutes. #ExploringWalk Music Attribution : - Title : Cinelax Author / Composer : Liborio Conti Source : https://www.no-copyright-music.com
