Keta Senior High School: A Legacy of Discipline, Excellence, and Service Keta Senior High School, popularly known by its acronym KETASCO, is one of the most respected and renowned second-cycle institutions in Ghana. Founding and Early Development Keta Senior High School was founded on February 27, 1953, by Nathan Quao, a prominent Ghanaian educationist and civil servant who later became a senior official in the Ghanaian government. He established the school with a vision of providing quality secondary education to the youth of the Volta Region and beyond. The school was originally named Keta Secondary School and started with only 22 students—all boys—and a small teaching staff. The school was founded during a period when educational opportunities, especially at the secondary level, were limited in the Volta Region. KETASCO filled a critical gap, serving as one of the first government-assisted secondary schools in the area. With the strong support of the local community, the school steadily grew in size, reputation, and influence.
