How do we measure the volume of blood each donor donates? Here's how ⬇️ Introducing HemoFlow... This high tech machine is an important asset that is being used each and every day. The Hemo Flow gives us many alarms for specific reasons, for instance: 1.When the flow rate is higher than 110ml per minute, this alarms the staff that the blood is exiting too fast 2.When the flow rate is lower than 30ml per minute, this alarms the staff that the blood is exiting to slow 3.The Hemo Flow alarms when it has 450ml of blood within a blood pack, which is placed on a scaling  tilting tray. What else does the Hemo Flow do? 1.The Hemo Flow, displays the date, the time, the duration of the donation, the weight in milliliters and in grams. 2.The Hemo Flow has a clamping mechanism by which about 2cm of the blood packs tubing is put through. Once the completion of 450ml is within the pack the machine automatically clamps the tubing and not allowing anymore blood into the pack. 3.The Hemo Flow has a light system in it aswell, flashing of a green light means that it is ready for the entire process to begin. Once it reached 450ml a red light flashes alarming the staff that it is finished with the donor. 4.Hooked on the Hemo Flow machine is a scaling tray, where the pack is placed on which the blood enters. This tray plays and important role in the end product we distribute to the hospitals. This tray swings from side to side mixing a fluid (anticoagulant, non clotting fluid) with the blood not to form any clots within it. Here's a 2 minute demonstration 🌻
