Clinical Viewpoints: A Lecture Series for Clinicians on NF1-PN

This lecture on Plexiform Neurofibromas in Neurofibromatosis type 1 is from Clinical Viewpoints, an accredited continuing medical education provider and an approved Children’s Tumor Foundation Educational Partner. This webcast was recorded on February 18, 2025, and was led by lecturer Amy Armstrong, MD. Patients with plexiform neurofibromas (PN) associated with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) experience considerable morbidity, a poor quality of life, and increased mortality. Research efforts have led to earlier diagnosis, new monitoring approaches, emerging treatment options, and considerations for surgical intervention. To this end, it is critical that pediatric oncologists, as well as other members of the multidisciplinary team caring for patients with NF1-PN, are up to date on recent advances. This program will utilize case-based discussion to address the heterogeneity and complexity of this condition as well as considerations for the use of emerging therapies when making individualized management decisions among diverse patients.
