Riding near Chobe National Park Ep.23 - XR600 Africa Dual Sport Adventure 2022

This episode shows our first stop after crossing into Botswana. After getting into Botswana we headed to Senyati Lodge to see the wildlife of the Chobe National Park. There were warthogs, elephants and ostrich all along the road. The elephant population has grown drastically in Botswana, you can tell by the amount of trees downed everywhere. Fantastic place to pass the time watching animals come and go from the watering hole at Senyati, it was a unique cycle throughout the day of who got their turn at the water’s edge. The animal hide brought you very close to massive elephants. We rode into town for provisions and attempted to go on a sand rode through the edge of the park. We heard it was teeming with wildlife. Unfortunately about a quarter of the way in we realized it was going to take us forever to make it. The deep sand and steep climbs made for a very slow journey. We didn’t want to get stuck in a sand pit where there would be surely be herds of elephants and buffalo walking by. We ended up taking the flatter sand road into town to hit the store.
