In this Video we will learn more about the 3 species of Pandas. The Giant Panda, Ailuropoda Melanoleuca, is a Mammal of the Ursidae Family. It is an animal that lives in bamboo forests and is exclusively found throughout the south and east of China, distinguished by its unmistakable white fur with black spots around the eyes and on its limbs, ears, and shoulders. Despite being classified in the order of Carnivores, it does not have that type of diet, with its diet being almost exclusively based on the consumption of bamboo, which is poor in nutrients and rich in fibers. Because of this, they need to consume large quantities, between 12 and 38 kg per day. The Qinling Panda, Brown Panda, Ailuropoda Melanoleuca Qinlingensis, also known as the Qinling Giant Panda, is a subspecies of the Giant Panda, Ailuropoda Melanoleuca, that is native to the Qinling Mountains in China. Qinling pandas are distinguished from other Giant Panda subspecies by their smaller size, lighter fur color, and longer, thicker fur. They have well-developed, curved claws which help them grasp branches and move through trees. This species is endangered, with fewer than 1,000 individuals remaining in the wild. The Red Panda, Ailurus Fulgens,, also known as the Fire Fox or Fire Cat, is a species of Arboreal Mammal. It belongs to the Family Ailuridae, but has previously been classified in the Families Procyonidae and Ursidae. The red panda is a fascinating and unique species that inhabits the tropical forests of the mountains of Nepal, northern Myanmar, and central China. Also known as fire foxes or fire cats, red pandas are arboreal and spend most of their lives in trees, where they sleep in nests of evergreen leaves. They are able to descend from trees head down thanks to their flexibility and sharp, powerful claws.
