Our Baby's "Gender" | Not Revealed and Why

The most common question we get asked is, "Is your baby a boy or a girl?" In this video we discuss how we answer this question. We are sure our babies sex will be known at some point or another, as we are not trying to hide their genitalia - and also, we feel like that's all that is ever really being asked around "is your baby a boy or a girl"- (i.e. what is your baby's genitalia) and we aren't going to treat them any differently based on if they have a penis, a vagina, or something in between. And around gender we just really feel a desire for people to get to know Ilya as an individual and not group them into a gender category as we don't feel that our society's assumptions around gender are generally helpful- they have not felt helpful for us at least, but rather, they have felt limiting. We are really feeling it all out as we go and don't feel rigid about anything or like we want it to be a big deal- just doing what feels best for us at the moment.
