In this special conversion , I sit with my Mentor, Shifu Kanishka, whose life, wisdom, and lived martial knowledge continue to guide me as a disciple and martial artist. During our conversation, I asked Shifu about the core principle of Xinyiba, and he explained it with deep clarity through La · Na · Za—not merely as techniques, but as the foundation of internal-powered, direct combat. “La Na Za defines Xinyiba’s. Xinyiba is built around direct, internal-powered combat, and La Na Za training with Da Qiang helps in it.” Shifu further explained: La (拉 – Pull / draw): Break structure, pull the opponent into emptiness, disrupt balance. Na (拿 – Seize / control): Lock joints, seize tendons, dominate the center and nervous system. Za (砸 – Smash / drop): Issue whole-body power downward or inward to finish decisively. “Every Xinyiba technique contains all three, either simultaneously or in rapid sequence.” These teachings are not academic—they come from decades of practice, refinement, and real understanding. Listening to Shifu speak is like touching the roots of the art itself. As a disciple, I feel deeply blessed. Shifu, your kindness, patience, and willingness to share your life’s knowledge with me is something I will remain grateful for throughout my entire life. I bow with respect and responsibility to carry this knowledge forward with honesty and discipline. This interview is not just a discussion—it is a transmission. 🙏 With lifelong gratitude, Your disciple
