[16th Birthday] Just being there brought tears to my eyes!

Today, April 20, 2025, Choppi celebrated his 16th birthday. How amazing it is that he has reached this age safely. How precious a miracle it is. I quietly feel the weight of it all because we spend every day together. When he was a puppy, he would come running to me just because our eyes met. The moment he would spin around, unable to wait for a walk. Those "ordinary" days have now become an irreplaceable miracle that brings tears to my eyes. He can now only walk slowly, and it takes him a long time to eat his meals. There are certainly more things he can't do now than before, but more than that, "You're still by my side," "We can still make eye contact," "We can still spend the same time together." Each of these things teaches me how happy and irreplaceable they are. Choppi. Thank you so much for becoming part of our family 16 years ago. Thank you for being by my side for so long. Thank you for giving us so much joy, tears, support, and miracles. And - thank you for being alive today. And to another precious family member, Tina. I'm sure you were confused at times by your big sister's changes. But thank you for always being there for me. I'm sure your kindness and ability to read the mood have reached Choppi.
