The officer, identified as Sub-Inspector Gagandeep Singh, got a few alerts indicating trouble in the area. Singh reached the temple and acted as a shield for the man when the crowd tried to thrash him.The Muslim man was reportedly at the temple in Girija village with his Hindu girlfriend.
