Octomammoth is another great, entry-level Big Fish with a little bit of a challenge and great pay-off when desynthed. 📖Chapters 0:00 Intro & What to know ahead of time 0:10 Starting out 0:40 Mooch Chain 0:55 What to do when Mooch II is on cool down 1:35 Octomammoth Catch 2:14 Octamammoth Desynth Rewards ------- Octomammoth Location: Limsa Lominsa Fishing Hole: Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks Bait: Pill Bug Conditions 9 - 17, Any Weather Min Gathering: 290 Octomammoth is a mooch off a Harbor Herring (!! bite) in the Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks. This fishing hole is pretty large, so anywhere along the lower decks where there is water is valid. I like the Fishing Guild or Aetheryte just cause there are usually people to talk to. Start off by catching a Harbor Herring using Pill Bug. It's a shorter !! bite, usually no later than 14s if using a macro timer. Mooch with whatever mooch skill is active. You can ignore all the non !!! bites to save time. If Mooch II is on cooldown, use Patience to increase the chance of HQ harbor herrings to mooch. Patience II is more ideal than Patience I, but both work fine if you don't have Patience II. Use Powerful Hookset to catch both Harbor Herring (the !! bite) and Octomammoth (the !!! bite) 🌱FFXIV Free Trial Fishers: You should be consistently using Patience when catching Octomammoth to increase your chances of HQ Harbor Herrings, and thus letting you use Mooch I. I recommend using Cordials or Hi-Cordials (the latter bought with Gatherer Scrip) to replenish your GP and keep your Patience up at all times. Desynthing Octomammoth gives you a chance of two glamours, both blue color beach-wear bottoms.
